Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate, and manage the kitchen team to deliver excellent food and smooth service.
Plan, prepare, and execute a menu featuring
classic pub dishes
and creative seasonal specials.
Ensure all food is cooked and presented to a consistently high standard.
Manage
ordering, stock rotation, and inventory control
to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
Maintain strict
food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen compliance
at all times.
Train and develop chefs at all levels
Work closely with management
Monitor kitchen costs, GP margins, and portion control to hit business targets.
Lead by example during service, especially during busy trading periods.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience as a
Head Chef or Sous Chef
in a pub or casual dining environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
Knowledge of
traditional pub fare
as well as seasonal, modern dishes.
Solid understanding of
food costings, GP margins, and kitchen budgets
.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with front-of-house management.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred
Experience running a
busy, high-volume pub kitchen
