After 13 years, we are delighted to announce that we will re-open the Famous Punch Bowl Inn, Lanreath, Cornwall

With 2 beautiful restaurants, function room, bars, and beer gardens, offering homecooked menus, and using local produce.

Offering breakfast, lunches and evening meals, along with carvery and function buffets and dining.

With a brand new state of the art kitchen, we are looking for the right person, to build a team, and deliver award winning food service.

We are seeking an experienced and creative Head Chef to lead our kitchen team.

The Head Chef will be responsible for menu creation, food preparation, and kitchen management while ensuring high-quality standards and food safety compliance.

Key responsibilities include overseeing kitchen staff, managing inventory, maintaining cost control, and ensuring a smooth kitchen operation.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, a passion for culinary excellence, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities



Lead and manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations. Develop and design innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while meeting customer preferences. Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of quality and presentation. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.

Skills



Proven experience in a Head Chef or similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry. Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food production techniques. Excellent team management abilities, with experience supervising kitchen staff effectively. In-depth knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate collaboration within the team. A creative mindset with a passion for developing new dishes and enhancing existing recipes.
