Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead oursmall kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food production, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced hospitality environment also might suit a second chef who is looking to promote. Working hours would be 50 hours over 5 days.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service. Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards. Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment. Develop new menu items and specials that reflect current culinary trends while meeting customer preferences. Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and operational procedures. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction. Monitor kitchen performance metrics and implement improvements as necessary.

Requirements

Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Strong supervisory experience with the ability to manage a team effectively. Extensive knowledge of food production techniques and culinary skills. Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations. Excellent leadership abilities with strong communication skills. Previous experience in menu development and cost control is advantageous. A passion for cooking and creating memorable dining experiences.
