Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive working environment
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, considering current trends and customer preferences
Manage food production schedules to meet service times efficiently
Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise kitchen operations
Train and mentor junior staff, promoting professional development and skill enhancement
Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Uphold cleanliness standards within the kitchen area through regular inspections
Requirements
Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary environment, preferably in a restaurant setting
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
Experience in food production planning and inventory control
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure during peak hours
Strong understanding of hospitality operations and customer service principles
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with serving experience in a hospitality context
Passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to menu development and presentation
