Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of food preparation, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As the Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring that our pub restaurant continues to thrive in the competitive hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
Train, mentor and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production. Leading by example, your cooking and presentation skills will reflect the high consistency level required.
Plan and create innovative menus, in collaboration with the manager, that reflect current culinary trends and suit the pub and clientele, while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene practices within the kitchen.
Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to ensure smooth kitchen operations, to meet or exceed budgetary targets.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and customer service excellence.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Conduct regular quality checks on food presentation and taste before serving to customers.

Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Chef or experienced Sous Chef in a similar culinary leadership role within a restaurant or pub setting.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and culinary trends.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
In-depth understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
Exceptional organisational skills with a keen attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen management.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
A passion for cooking and creativity in menu development is essential.
