We are now seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and help take our food offering to the next level. --- Role Overview: As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, menu planning, and food preparation. You will bring your culinary flair, leadership, and passion for traditional British cuisine to deliver consistently high-quality dishes. This role is ideal for a chef who enjoys a hands-on approach, thrives in a close-knit community environment, and has a genuine love for honest, seasonal food. --- Key Responsibilities: Lead and inspire a small kitchen team to deliver exceptional homemade food. Plan and develop seasonal menus focused on traditional British dishes using fresh, local produce. Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, stock control, hygiene standards, and health & safety compliance. Maintain excellent food presentation and consistency. Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction. Assist Manager to Recruit, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff. Monitor food costs and waste to ensure profitability and sustainability. Ensure all food is prepared in line with current food safety regulations and allergen requirements. --- What We're Looking For: Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a similar pub or restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of traditional British cuisine and seasonal cooking. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Passion for quality, locally sourced food. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. High standards of cleanliness, organisation, and attention to detail.
