An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced chef to Lead our busy kitchen at Forest Cafe - Midmar. The key focus of this role is to maintain and develop the quality and service of our core brunch and lunch trade.
Located by Westhill however a company vehicle / lift provided from Cafe Ahoy daily.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Have full knowledge of the preparation and suggest ways to improve practices to drive labour performance.
-Manage the presentation of all food items served in the venue and ensure they are served to the highest possible standards
- Ability to work at speed during service as well as the ability to train others.
- Lead in training all kitchen team members
- Create and develop menu items and daily specials including allergen charts
- Ensure all paperwork is kept up to date in the kitchen including cook safe, temperature checks and cleaning schedules etc
- Stock ordering and maintaining set GP% (stock take carried out by external stock taker)
- Maintaining staffing levels within agreed budgets
- Be fully responsible for the kitchen
The Package:
