Right now, we are looking for a Head Chef that loves to see our residents enjoy the food they have prepared , whether its a scrumptious English Breakfast, a roast dinner, pastries or desserts, we want a chef who enjoys cooking for the residents. and to join our friendly team promoting independence and dignity and positively enhancing the lives of individuals in our care.

Working hours and salary:

Full time-

Flexible to cover Weekdays and weekends between 7am and 3pm.

Job Summary

Carry out meal preparations according the menu, whilst maintaining food hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

To maintain the standard of health and hygiene in the kitchen.

To prepare special diet meals for particular residents.

To ensure a high level of service for all meal times.

To complete all documentation relating to HACCP.

To ensure report any defects to equipment to the Home Manager.

To ensure good quality and portion control.

Assist with menu planning and any revisions that may be required.

To carry out any reasonable duties requested by senior staff that will aid and assist the smooth running of the home.

Experience of working in a residential care home setting, especially with Dementia.

Know your stuff when it comes to ensuring the kitchen is compliant with its paperwork and adhering to regulations.

An understanding of what is important to others.

Flexible to carry out other duties by helping the team with gaps in service.

Managing the kitchen team, carrying out supervisions, appraisals and scheduling your team to work on a rolling 4 week rota.

Placing the food orders within a budget set by the management

What will your typical day involve:

Getting breakfast ready for early birds and late risers, whilst prepping lunch. Lunch to be served on time as the residents know the time and are eagerly waiting at the dining table. Keeping the kitchen clean as you go along and finally prepping snacks ,for tea time.
