We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and inspiring a team of kitchen staff to achieve excellence. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in menu development, staff training, and maintaining the restaurant's reputation for outstanding cuisine.
Duties
Lead and supervise the entire kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food preparation and presentation
Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to food safety regulations
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs to optimise kitchen operations
Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and hospitality standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor food service operations during busy periods to ensure customer satisfaction is consistently met or exceeded
Uphold high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation across all kitchen activities
Experience
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse culinary teams
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and hygiene regulations
Previous experience in menu development and culinary innovation is highly desirable
Familiarity with restaurant service practices including serving standards and customer interaction
A recognised culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience in hospitality or culinary arts is preferred
