We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food preparation, and extensive kitchen experience. The Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, supervising staff, and delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to organisational standards.
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, mentoring, and scheduling shifts.
Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
Coordinate food production activities to meet service times and optimise efficiency.
Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations.
Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise waste.
Support the development of new menu items and culinary innovations.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operated safely.
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to deliver excellent customer service during service hours.
Requirements
Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Experience in restaurant or hospitality settings is highly desirable.
Knowledge of food production processes and culinary techniques.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
Good communication skills to foster teamwork and coordinate with other departments.
A recognised culinary qualification or relevant hospitality experience is preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction.
