We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in South Indian cuisine and a deep understanding of food production processes. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in assisting the Head Chef with kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards while maintaining a positive and efficient work environment.
Duties
Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes according to the menu specifications.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective teamwork and productivity.
Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu planning and development, contributing innovative ideas for seasonal offerings.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste through efficient food production practices.
Train new kitchen staff on culinary techniques, food safety protocols, and kitchen operations.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to hygiene standards at all times.
Assist in managing kitchen schedules to ensure adequate staffing during peak service times.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
MUST HAVE A Strong South Indian cuisine experience with an ability to make Dosas, Utthappams, Chappati and poori. Passion for food preparation and presentation.
Excellent leadership abilities with experience in supervising and managing a team effectively.
Knowledge of hospitality standards and best practices within the culinary field.
Ability to work collaboratively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills with the capability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting.
A commitment to continuous learning and improvement within the culinary arts.
