Athletix Kidz is a play based Athletics programme for ages 18 months - 10 years old. Athletix Kidz endeavours to establish a robust foundation for a lifelong love of sport and a healthy active lifestyle. Athletics forms a large part of any fundamental movement which is a great platform for all sports.
We're passionate about inspiring the next generation to be active, confident, and resilient and we're looking for a dedicated Head Coach to lead our team and deliver exceptional coaching experiences.
Role Overview
As Head Coach, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality sessions, supporting and developing assistant coaches, and ensuring that every child receives an outstanding experience at Athletix Kidz. You'll play a key role in maintaining programme standards, liaising with parents, and upholding our core values: Fun, Confidence, and Skill Development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver age-appropriate coaching sessions for children aged 18 months -10.
Keep in line with the Athletix Kidz programme content.
Support Assistant coaches and set clear standards.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children during sessions.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers.
Set up and pack down equipment for each session.
Represent Athletix Kidz professionally and enthusiastically at all times.
Assist with events, parties, and holiday camps as needed.
Provide regular feedback to the Programme Director regarding coach performance and session delivery.
Essential Requirements
Previous experience coaching or working with young children (18 months-10 years).
Energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about children's development.
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
Reliable, responsible, and committed to child safeguarding.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
First Aid certification (or willingness to complete training).
Availability during after-school hours and weekends.
Desirable
Experience in athletics or physical education settings.
Knowledge of child development and early years/KS1 physical literacy.
Own transport and willingness to travel to different venues.
