Key Responsibilities - Care Home Meal Preparation & Kitchen Management
Plan, prepare, and cook wholesome, appealing meals and snacks for residents, meeting all dietary needs and preferences.
Lead kitchen operations--upholding high standards for cleanliness, food hygiene, and allergen controls in all food handling.
Coordinate with care staff to ensure residents' individual dietary requirements and medical needs are fully supported.
Manage food and supply ordering, stock rotation, and minimize kitchen waste through smart inventory control.
Maintain accurate kitchen and food safety records in line with current regulations.
Foster a welcoming and safe atmosphere in the kitchen, contributing to a positive care environment for all residents and staff.

Essential Skills & Experience for Care Home Head Cook Jobs
Minimum 2 years' experience as a cook or chef, ideally in a care home or large-scale food service setting.
Strong knowledge of nutrition, safe food handling, and catering for special diets and allergies.
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Allergen Awareness preferred).
Proven leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
