We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Head Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting dental professionals, ensuring patients receive excellent care, and maintaining a smooth clinical environment. Duties
To provide the highest quality dental nursing support to clinicians.
To provide support and team direction to team members and follow systems in place
To conduct surgery inspections and provide feedback and action plans to staff members.
Conduct audits to comply with cross infection, surgery checks, and medical history / PR form checks.
To monitor team members' performances and give feedback to the practice manager.
Carry out stock checks during surgeries to ensure team members are not hoarding stock.
To carry out nurse's meetings, raise any concerns/improvements required and follow this up. Provide any training that may be required.
To set an example for other team members, if free, ensure you create tasks such as offering help in other surgeries, helping with reception, and carrying out extended duties.
Feedback improvements both staff and practice related to the practice manager.
Monitor clinical waste system
Know what standards are expected to comply with CQC regulations and HTM 01-05.
Perform any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Practice Manager or Principal dentists.
To support the trainee dental nurse and arrange suitable training when needed, any requests to provide additional support must be run past the practice manager beforehand.

Requirements
Proven experience in patient care within a dental setting is essential
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Basic IT skills for managing patient records and practice management software
Strong organisational skills to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently
Good understanding of nursing principles and practices relevant to dental care
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail
A caring attitude with a focus on delivering high-quality patient service
Relevant qualifications in nursing or dental assisting are essential.
