Job Overview:
We are seeking an honest, intelligent person to assist with all gardening jobs at Rushley Green Farm. To include borders and beds, plants, glasshouse, vegetables, grass, hedges, tidying and ground keeping. The position and hours are flexible but reliability is a key part.

This is a working Head Gardener position rather than a Groundsman or Caretaker

We try to garden as close to organically as reasonably possible. There is a large heated glasshouse under construction and the intention is to produce vegetables, flowers etc for the house

The ideal candidate will have a gardening qualification and / or significant experience. Ideal for an assistant ready to progress. They will be competent with equipment such as mowers, small tractors, as well as greenhouse, bedding, vegetables and herbaceous plants.

This is a hands on position requiring reliability, care and knowledge. Working directly for and with the owners to maintain, improve, manage and develop all aspects of the garden.

Responsibilities:-
- Groundcare - grass, hedges, edging, trees etc
- Glasshouse, planting, watering, maintaining, cleaning etc.

- Beds and borders

- Strong understanding of botany and plant physiology
- Sympathetic and capable use of the varied equipment we use.
- Excellent plant skills
- Ability to work effectively with people.

Skills:
- Green fingers
- Ability to work effectively in a domestic environment.
- Creative thinking with attention to detail.
- Knowledge and ability to discuss.

This will be a rewarding and interesting position for the successful applicant.

Please note the hours are flexible but this is a position for one dedicated person not a gardening company. Ideally two, three or four days per week and 9am to 3pm ish.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From 15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 14 - 28 per week
