The Role:
As a Head Gardener, you will lead the gardens team to maintain and develop the gardens, enhancing visitor experience and supporting the estate\'s strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and supervise garden staff while ensuring high standards.
- Manage greenhouse operations and address structural issues.
- Foster a welcoming environment and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, set performance standards, and manage budgets.
- Attend meetings, conduct staff appraisals, and provide training.
Essential:
- Previously worked as a Gardener or in a similar role.
- Machinery operation experience.
- Skilled in IT, including Excel and Word.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Horticulture qualifications (City & Guilds Level 2/3, RHS Level 2).
- Spraying and chainsaw licences.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
