Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Head Housekeeper to join our team at White Ash Brook. As an integral part of our home, you will ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, contributing to the comfort and well-being of our residents, you will ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Your leadership will be vital in maintaining infection control and supporting the overall wellbeing of our residents in line with our values, whilst seeking to minimise the environmental impact of our product use and adhering to relevant budgets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Housekeeping Management:



Oversee the daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all areas of the care home are clean, tidy, and well-maintained. Develop and implement cleaning schedules and protocols to maintain high standards of hygiene and infection control. Supervise and support housekeeping staff, providing training and guidance as needed.

Resident Care:



Ensure residents' rooms and communal areas are cleaned and maintained to a high standard, supporting residents' comfort and wellbeing. Manage laundry services, ensuring residents' clothing and linens are clean, fresh, and well-cared for. Respect residents' privacy, dignity, and choice at all times while delivering housekeeping services.

Health and Safety:



Follow and manage infection control procedures and health and safety guidelines. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the appropriate personnel. Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored properly. Train team to adhere to best practice for minimising environmental impact through dosage and applications

Team Collaboration:



Work collaboratively with other team members, including carers, nurses, kitchen staff, and managers, to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment. Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other staff members. Participate in home leadership meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of housekeeping services.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE



Experience & Knowledge:



Previous experience in a housekeeping role, preferably in a care home or healthcare setting. Strong understanding of hygiene and infection control standards. Ability to manage and supervise a team effectively, supporting professional development and high standards.

Skills & Attributes:



Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and adapt to the needs of the home. High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining consistently high standards. Compassionate, respectful, and values-driven approach to supporting residents and colleagues. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team

Compliance:



Right to work in the UK. A current clear DBS check or willingness to undertake a new one for this role.

Professional Development:



Willingness to undergo training and professional development as required, maintaining compliance with home requirements.
