The Role

As Head Housekeeper, you will take the lead in ensuring our home is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. You will manage and motivate the housekeeping team, oversee daily cleaning routines, and ensure compliance with infection control and health & safety regulations.

Your role is vital to creating a comfortable, safe, and happy home for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the housekeeping team to deliver consistent, high-quality cleaning services. Organise staff, manage workloads, and ensure all duties are carried out efficiently. Ensure all areas of the home are clean, tidy, and well presented at all times. Maintain stock levels of cleaning materials and equipment, managing ordering and budgets. Ensure compliance with health & safety, COSHH, and infection control standards. Support new team members through training, induction, and ongoing development. Build positive relationships with residents, ensuring their comfort and preferences are respected.
Person Specification

Essential:

Previous experience in a housekeeping role, ideally in a care home, hotel, or similar environment. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Good organisational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards. Knowledge of infection control and health & safety practices. Friendly, approachable, and resident-focused.

Desirable:

Experience as a Head Housekeeper or Supervisor. Knowledge of COSHH regulations. Experience in a care environment.
