Job Description

Provide a clean and safe environment for our Residents. Provide a high a standard of cleanliness within our Care Homes always ensuring to comply with Hutchinson Care Homes Policies and Procedures. As well as following compliance set by Health and Safety at Work 1974 and The Control of the Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002. To supervise the Team responsible for cleaning maintaining and providing supplies to bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas. Head Housekeepers will have to regularly inspect their teams work to ensure it meets the high standards of cleanliness and order set by Hutchinson Care Homes Directors and Senior Management Team.

About The Role



Main Duties:



Comply with Infection Control Procedures and Personal Protective Equipment You may be required to work in other homes in the business at short notice to assist with staffing levels To ensure cleaning of all areas of the home are to the highest standard To organise deep cleaning duties when required Ensure cleaning and laundry supplies are stored safely and used effectively to minimise wastage Attend all necessary training Participate in any other duties detailed by management that may be considered relevant Demonstrate a positive attitude when carrying out duties and be willing to put in an extra effort if an unexpected situation arrives Promote good housekeeping, in respect of health and safety and ensure that there is no neglect of property and ensuring a well maintained area of care Keep all cleaning store rooms neat and tidy as well as ensuring there is enough stock Order stock as and when required keeping in mind costs and budgets To attend staff meetings as and when required Maintain confidentiality at all times Flexibility to work across multiple homes within our business to support staffing needs. Oversee cleaning operations to ensure all areas of the home meet our high standards. Coordinate deep cleaning tasks as necessary. Manage cleaning and laundry supplies efficiently to minimize wastage. Attend and complete all required training sessions. Fulfill additional duties as assigned by management. Approach duties with a positive attitude, willing to go the extra mile when needed. Promote a culture of good housekeeping and safety.

Administration Duties:



Keep cleaning records up to date and inform Manager/Deputy Manager of any change Report and record any breaks or damages to your Manager/or Deputy Manager Complete documentation and records as and when required

General & Personal Development



Ability to work effectively and manage a team Organised and trustworthy Pride in your work Physically fit to carry out cleaning duties Ability to give instructions and feedback Punctual and Reliable Clean and Tidy appearance Flexible approach to work including change of working patterns to suit the Care Home

Required Criteria



At least six months experience working with patients within a Care Home Setting Excellent interpersonal Skills Ability to work under pressure Knowledge of stock taking, ordering supplies, cleaning equipment and materials and COSHH

12.70 - 13.20 per hour
