About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on, highly motivated Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and raise our environmental standards to the next level. This is not a supervisory role from a distance -- the successful candidate will work alongside staff on the floor every day, setting the pace, demonstrating best practice, and ensuring both resident bedrooms and communal areas are maintained to an exceptional standard.

Key Responsibilities

Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the housekeeping team, leading by example and maintaining a highly visible presence on the floor. Ensure outstanding cleaning standards in resident bedrooms, en-suites, and all shared spaces. Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance the look, feel, and cleanliness of the home. Uphold and promote Infection Prevention & Control (IP&C) standards in line with Scottish CH IPCM guidance. Carry out regular quality checks and implement actions to ensure standards consistently exceed expectations. Train, mentor, and motivate staff to achieve excellence in cleaning, organisation, and presentation. Work collaboratively with care, nursing, kitchen, and activities teams to support a seamless, high-quality resident experience. Manage stock levels of cleaning materials, linens, and equipment efficiently and within budget.

What We're Looking For

Proven housekeeping leadership experience (care home or hotel setting preferred). A practical, hands-on leader who is confident taking immediate action and setting high expectations. A passion for achieving excellence and the drive to take current standards to a new level. Strong communication skills and a positive, supportive team approach. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including some weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to 13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
