Head Housekeeper - Pub With Rooms -

20-25 hours per week, permanent contract (not zero hours)

About us:

The Westgate Pub with Rooms sits proudly at the top of Winchester high street. Our pub offers a home-from-home cosy atmosphere with great ale, delicious food and 10 en-suite rooms above. We are scheduled in early October for a full refurbishment throughout the pub and some light touches in rooms, which were fully refurbished last year. This is a rare opening on our established team to lead the housekeeping team as we expect to grow our business following refurbishment.

What we look for in a Housekeeper:

As the successful Head Housekeeper, you will have a passion to deliver exceptional customer service every time, with a friendly outgoing personality and desire to lead the team to the highest standards. You will have very high standards and an impeccable eye for detail. Our Housekeepers play an important role in the maintenance of our equipment, management of our linen and guest supplies and ensuring all daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks and projects are delivered on time and to highest standard. You'll get lots of training and have a good time along the way.


Reporting to the General Manager, the responsibilities of the head housekeeper include, but are not limited to:

managing housekeeping team rota, holidays, absences conducting pre-arrival checks of guest bedrooms training of new housekeeping team members actions from management team based on customer feedback stocktaking and management of linen inventory ordering of consumables and chemicals for housekeeping department ordering of rooms inventory; tea, coffee etc.
