The Opportunity

The of Head of 1st Line of Defence Risk Management is a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity of Worldline UK\'s payment services by overseeing various risk management functions. The primary responsibilities will include Underwriting and Monitoring of Merchant onboarding and portfolio performance. This includes credit risk management, ensuring compliance with KYC & AML regulations, managing fraud risk, monitoring transactions, maintaining PCI compliance, overseeing security operations, and managing access controls. The Head of 1st LoD RM will lead a large team including second level departments and work closely with global and cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management strategies and operating procedures that align with 2nd Line of Defence policies including regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities\xe2\x80\x8b

KYC & AML Management (Including Transaction Monitoring):

  • Ensure compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
  • Develop and maintain robust KYC & AML policies and procedures.
  • Conduct due diligence on customers and third-party relationships.
  • Monitor transactions for suspicious activities, including conducting transaction monitoring.
  • Report any potential money laundering activities and escalate as necessary.
Credit Risk Management:
  • Develop and implement credit risk underwriting policies and procedures.
  • Assess creditworthiness of clients and evaluate credit applications.
  • Monitor credit exposures and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Adapt onboarding procedures based on down-stream performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish credit risk tolerance levels.
Fraud Risk Management (Including Transaction Monitoring):
  • Develop and implement fraud risk management strategies and controls.
  • Monitor and analyze fraud trends and patterns to identify potential risks.
  • Conduct transaction monitoring to detect and prevent fraudulent activities.
  • Adapt onboarding procedures based on down-stream performance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate fraud risks.
  • Develop and conduct fraud awareness training for employees.
Scheme Risk Management (Including PCI Compliance):
  • Ensure compliance with payment scheme regulations and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to achieve and maintain compliance with payment schemes (e.g., Visa, Mastercard).
  • Monitor changes in payment scheme rules and regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Adapt onboarding procedures based on down-stream performance.
  • Maintain PCI DSS compliance by developing and implementing appropriate security controls and procedures.
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and address non-compliance issues.
Security Operations and Access Management:
  • Oversee security operations and manage security incidents and breaches.
  • Develop and implement access management controls to safeguard sensitive data and systems.
  • Monitor and manage user access rights and permissions.
  • Conduct periodic security assessments and vulnerability testing.

  • Master\'s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration).
  • Proven experience in risk management, preferably in the payment services or financial industry.

  • Deep understanding of credit risk underwriting and assessment techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of KYC & AML regulations and best practices, including transaction monitoring.
  • Experience in fraud risk management and detection techniques, including transaction monitoring.
  • Familiarity with transaction monitoring systems and tools.
  • Knowledge of payment scheme regulations (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) and compliance.
  • Understanding of PCI DSS requirements and compliance.
  • Understanding of security operations and access management principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
