OUTLINE ROLE AND PURPOSE



Full-time, Monday-Friday, Permanent



To identify and build deep rooted and positive relationships with Local Authorities, SEN Parental Groups, ancillary bodies, and other potential placement purchasers. To lead in referral acquisition, identification of appropriate admissions and planning of transition processes to secure required long-term placements to meet budgetary objectives.

Work in a fully integrated and strategic way with Senior Leaders to support business development, ensuring the meeting educational and therapeutic aims for individual children, enabling Blazing Stars Schools to meet these whole school objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Pre-Pupil Placement

Evaluating the pupil referral documentation to identify and match the specific and unique needs of the children to the educational, therapeutic, and social opportunities Blazing Stars Education offers.

To initiate and share professional dialogue on each set of placement papers with SLT, drawing up and presenting detailed synopsis of offer, identified grouping and anticipated start date for each potential pupil.

On approval of SLT initiate, organise, plan and lead all off site and onsite assessment visits relating to possible placements from all stakeholders, ensuring BSE colleagues are fully briefed and engaged as required, sharing the outcomes prior to making an informed decision.

To manage the preplacement assessment process. To ensure all relevant paperwork is reviewed and completed alongside all prior assessments. To ensure information is collated from previous placement, professionals and parents, shared with SENCO and appropriate department leads.

To liaise with Headteacher to plan and deliver a comprehensive transition programme, ensuring precise details and objectives are shared with the wider team and those involved in the transition programme.

To meet at least weekly with the wider SLT to ascertain and review appropriateness, capacity, timescales, and progress of all potential placements.

To provide and maintain detailed analysis and trends from centralised data bank of referrals, placements and progress of potential pipeline placements to SLT/Admissions Panel at weekly meeting.

To be responsible for initiating and facilitating all Local Authority and parental visits to the school, in relation to admissions and strategic development, ensuring members of the SLT are fully engaged in the visit.

To liaise with Finance Director for contractual documents to be signed and assume responsibility for ensuring school has relevant information for the admissions register to be accurate.

Implement and monitor progress of action plans working with parents/carers'

Support parents/carers through application process for accessing local services and help them attend meetings

Any other duties:

When requested, contribute to School's policy bank and implement as required

Personal Attributes

- Highly professional, energetic, and personable. Ability to work in team environment with flexible and supportive approach

Education

- Educated to College/University level

- Proven ability to communicate orally and in writing to a high professional standard with attention to detail.

Experience

- Sound knowledge of, qualified in and/or prior experience of school-based child education is key. SEN and/or Local Authority child school placement

Skills and Knowledge

- Excellent presentational skills within small and larger groups

- Ability to gather, create and analyse using Excel to report on a range of statistical databases to indicate

- Ability to provide a range of written promotional narrative to support marketing team on production of promotional material

- Proven skills in the positive management of parental and professional relationships in a school or educational setting

- Ability to acquire, identify, interpret, and utilise hard and soft business intelligence to grow and develop the school's strategic approaches
