The Manchester College has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Adult Support and Welfare on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis.

The Manchester College is seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Adult Support and Welfare to join our college management team. This newly created role will lead dedicated and tailored support for adult students across all TMC locations and community hubs. You will be responsible for shaping and delivering effective support and engagement strategies, ensuring every adult learner feels safe, healthy, supported, and empowered to thrive. The Manchester College is the Largest Further Education College in the United Kingdom and has the largest provisions for 16-19yrs olds, adults, and higher education in Greater Manchester. Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Degree Level Qualification or relevant industrial experience or professional qualification
Recognised teaching qualification
Numeracy and literacy skills (to level 2 or equivalent)
Significant experience of leading a high performing student support and engagement team
Current knowledge and successful experience of providing support to adult students, including safeguarding, welfare and attendance initiatives
Experience of supervising, tracking and quality assurance
Experience of teaching up to and including Level 3
Proven ability to manage and lead a group/team to bring about improvements
Experience of using IT systems to manage performance and bring about improvement
Experience of building successful employer / external relationships
Demonstrable record of achievement against targets and deadlines
Excellent Data handling and analysis skills
Good IT skills
Clear written and Verbal Communication skills
The ability to lead and work effectively in cross college teams and establish positive relationships and bring about improvements
