Head of Adventure and Outdoor Education - fulltime (37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks)



Salary: Competitive

The Head of Adventure and Outdoor Education will strategically plan and implement a programme of outdoor learning and challenge activities for all our pupils which enhances and complements our academic curriculum, capitalises on all available opportunities in our local community and beyond, invigorates the pupil experience at Clifton High School and supports pupil mental and physical well-being.

The new post-holder will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive adventure curriculum that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and personal growth among students aged 3 to 18. The Head of Adventure and Outdoor Education will also take on the responsibilities of Educational Visits Co-ordinator.

The successful post-holder will be enthusiastic and passionate about adventure education, creative and innovative in developing engaging activities and empathetic and supportive, with a focus on student well-being. They will have proven experience in leading adventure programs or similar activities, strong leadership and team management skills, an ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and the community and a commitment to promoting teamwork, collaboration, and inclusivity.

They will have formal qualifications in outdoor education and activities, with a desire to undertake and develop further ultimately to the level of Mountain Leader and International Mountain Leader, and ideally - but not essential - a Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent in Outdoor Education, or a related field.
