You will be part of the

Distribution and connections

team. As one of the largest Independent Connection Providers (ICP's) in the UK, we support distribution network operations across infrastructure.


Our team installs and maintains distribution networks and ensures reliable connections for customers. carrying out electrical planned work, customer connections and network reinforcement.

What will you be doing?



As the Head of Business Development you will focus on winning new business and developing new products and services for the sectors served by the MGS Energy Division, (Distribution & Connections). As a senior member of the team, you will support the delivery of the Sales & Strategy objectives:



Specifically, you will be responsible for generating new leads, developing client and partner relationships and the subsequent preparation and delivery of pre-qualification and winning proposals and tender submissions.



Identify business opportunities within the UK DNO/DSO electricity and gas sectors. Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes, including government policies and Ofgem regulations. Develop strategies to address challenges posed by the DSO transition and decarbonisation goals. Lead market entry strategies for emerging projects and innovations. Build market knowledge across areas of regulation, trends, developments, new technologies and competitor activity Identify new services and products that meet the evolving needs of our customers Research and identify new markets

What you'll bring



Preferably Degree qualified, although not essential Leadership, management, and mentoring skills, particularly in matrix environment Strong understanding of the UK DNO/DSO landscape, including key players, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks. Ability to foresee industry trends and formulate long-term business strategies. A proven track record of successful business development and contract management Robust skills in Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge, previous experience and network within the energy sector. Specifically, familiarity with electricity and gas distribution systems, smart grids, and renewable energy technologies. Contract modelling software skills Mobilisation and project management skills Development of customer orientated new products and technology roadmaps
