The Role
As Head of Centre, you'll lead the operational running of our Manchester alternative provision centre. Working closely with the Executive Head of Service, you'll shape the culture, manage the team and resources, and ensure high standards of teaching, behaviour, and inclusion.
This is a leadership role for someone who wants to make a real impact, supporting pupils from all backgrounds and helping our team thrive in a values-driven, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the centre's day-to-day operations
Build a positive, enriching culture for pupils and staff
Uphold high standards of teaching, behaviour, and professionalism
Support curriculum development and assessment strategies
Champion inclusion and ensure access for pupils with SEND
Manage safeguarding, risk, and staff wellbeing
Drive continuous improvement and strategic direction
Foster professional development and strong partnerships
What We're Looking For
A qualified teacher, with significant teaching experience
Previous leadership experience in a school, or AP environment
Commitment to safeguarding, with significant SEND experience
A strong, values-led leader with a passion for education, with experience in managing teams and driving improvement
Data led with good analytical skills
Commitment to inclusion, equity, and pupil wellbeing, with the ability to build respectful relationships across the community
A desire to work differently - less bureaucracy, more impact, always focusing on the best outcomes
