Job Description

Alternaleaf, our clinic is an innovative organisation at the forefront of healthcare, combining private healthcare expertise, cutting-edge direct-to-consumer technology, and leadership in medical cannabis. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinician who is a GMC-registered doctor to guide our clinical strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver exceptional patient-centred care. Representative of Montu's core business to date, this comprises a team of 120+ people including clinic operations, pharmacy operations, wholesale and logistics, patient experience, marketing/communications, tech & data.


The Head of Clinical Services will play a pivotal role in shaping the medical vision of Alternaleaf & Montu. This position requires a skilled and forward-thinking professional to lead clinical operations, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive innovation in patient care.

Clinical Leadership:



Oversee clinical operations and ensure high standards of medical care across all services. Develop and implement clinical protocols and guidelines in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Provide medical expertise and leadership to cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and product development.

Patient Experience:



Champion a patient-centric culture, ensuring that patient experience is at the forefront of all B2C activities and leverage tech and product teams to achieve best-in-class service to maximise retention. Manage clinics when needed to ensure consistency of care and service delivery. Support with day to day operations of the business as it scales. Have a bias for being hands on and getting things done!

Regulatory Compliance:



Ensure compliance with GMC guidelines, CQC requirements, and relevant medical cannabis regulations. Stay updated on legislative and industry changes, ensuring the organisation remains compliant and ahead of trends. Oversee patient safety protocols, adverse event reporting, and risk management strategies. Support complaint and incident management with the governance team.

Innovation in Patient Care:



Collaborate with technology teams to enhance direct-to-consumer platforms, focusing on telemedicine, patient engagement, and care delivery. Utilise insights from private healthcare and medical cannabis to develop patient-centric solutions. Lead initiatives to integrate new treatments, technologies, and methodologies into the service offering.

Team Development:



Provide mentorship and support to clinical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Recruit, train, and retain a team of healthcare professionals aligned with the company's mission.

Strategic Contribution:



Collaborate with the executive team to shape the company's vision, mission, and growth strategy. Analyse data and metrics to evaluate clinical performance and drive decision-making. Contribute to market research and product development to expand the company's reach and impact.

Qualifications

GMC Registration

: Fully licensed GMC-registered doctor in good standing. Proven background in private healthcare/ health tech/ services that scaled quickly with a strong understanding of patient care dynamics. Familiarity with direct-to-consumer health tech platforms, including telemedicine or digital health solutions. Experience with medical cannabis treatments, patient management, and associated regulations.

Knowledge

: In-depth understanding of medical cannabis, its therapeutic uses, and emerging industry trends is a plus.

Leadership

: Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience guiding multidisciplinary teams.

Communication

: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with patients, stakeholders, and regulators.

Technology Proficiency

: Comfortable working with healthcare technology systems and platforms.

Flexibility

: A proactive and adaptable mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced startup environment. Highly analytical and commercial mindset with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making.
