Park Side Coffee & Kitchen is a neighbourhood-focused, quality-driven cafe group committed to exceptional coffee, elevated all-day casual dining and genuine hospitality. With two busy Cardiff sites and a fast-growing reputation, we are now looking for a

Head of Coffee

to lead our coffee programme and training function.

This is a hands-on, guest-facing position with responsibility for maintaining exceptional standards, leading our barista team, and developing industry-leading training and quality systems. You'll be the champion of coffee culture across both sites.

What you'll do

Lead coffee standards, quality control and consistency across both sites Deliver hands-on barista training, upskilling and coaching for all team members Design and implement structured training programmes, SOPs and development pathways Drive innovation in our coffee offer, including seasonal drinks, techniques & equipment Work bar shifts to lead by example, support the teams and drive guest experience Manage relationships with roasters, equipment suppliers and service partners Conduct quality checks, calibrations and bar audits Act as Park Side's internal coffee expert - from workflow to latte art and extraction

What we're looking for

Proven experience in a senior barista / head barista / coffee trainer / beverage lead role Strong understanding of specialty coffee, extraction science and equipment care Confident trainer who can inspire, communicate and mentor Passion for hospitality, service, and building community around great coffee Ability to balance hands-on bar work with training, planning and admin Consistency, pride in standards, and a calm, positive presence on the bar
