Head of Commercial Finance - Maternity Cover (12 months)
Blis are looking for an experienced Head of Commercial Finance to join our Finance team on a maternity cover basis, based in London. The Head of Commercial Finance will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, providing strategic insights, and driving commercial success. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional to make a significant impact in a fast-paced and dynamic industry.
You will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
Lead the development and implementation of financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Provide insightful analysis of financial performance and key metrics to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial models and business cases for new initiatives and projects.
Financial Reporting and Control:
Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly management accounts, board reports, and statutory filings.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
Commercial Strategy and Business Partnering:
Partner with senior management to develop and execute commercial strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability.
Headcount and sales performance analysis
Provide financial expertise and support to sales, marketing, and operations teams to maximize business opportunities and mitigate risks.
Performance Management and KPI Tracking:
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor business performance and track progress against financial goals.
Identify areas for improvement and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
Requirements and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the technology, advertising, or digital media industry.
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Solid understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and risk management.
Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, financial modeling tools).
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
