The Role LADbible Group is seeking an exceptional team player to lead our strategic communications efforts across our growing business to shape messaging and strategy around media relations, speaking engagements, award entries, crisis communications, and internal communications, as needed. The ideal candidate will be fully invested in LADbible Groups mission and able to articulate it clearly to the business and the wider market. They will be a fast paced, organised and strategic thinker who has deep knowledge of the media, advertising and technology landscapes. The should have experience working with an entrepreneurial leadership team and can demonstrate proven success in executing high-profile communications initiatives. What the opportunity looks like

  • Establish a consistent and strategic approach to PR for the organisation that supports our ambition to be the No.1 media group for youth and young adults in the world and grows our position in culture.
  • Nurture and lead trusted relationships with influential media outlets and journalists to clearly articulate our position in market and deliver coverage that meet our strategic objectives across corporate, consumer and trade. This includes;
    • Writing and selling in of press releases related to company news, large client campaigns, partnerships etc
    • Securing profile and comment opportunities for company spokespeople with a focus on entertainment, sport, trade.
    • Selling in standalone bespoke research/thought pieces that you believe drive the reputation of the business forwards
    • Crisis management
  • Lead reputation management/crisis communications as the trusted voice of authority across senior internal stakeholders i.e drafting of all internal and external communications and liaising with media outlets.
  • Support the Director of Marketing & Comms and the Board to craft the key messaging both for the current and future business.
  • Work closely with a diverse senior team across several different needs, including prepping executives (including the CEO) with talking points for a presentation or interview to supporting the 360 (commercial) team with PR agency outreach or campaign launches.
  • Work with the Head of Brand Marketing to develop impactful brand campaigns that will secure press coverage and create brand impact in market.
  • Identifying and securing presence at key industry events (i.e. keynotes, panels etc) as well as finding interesting new opportunities which would further elevate our position in market.
  • Key contributor to the LBG Annual Report across ESG initiatives and Board statements.
  • Collaborate with external agency partners on investor/corp communications
  • Lead on internal communications and use company meetings to ensure we are showcasing the organisation to all of our colleagues and content supports overall business objectives.
  • Budget management for annual comms budget
  • Management and development of a Senior Comms Manager
Skills and experience we\'d like you to have

  • 10yrs+ experience of internal and external communications for a PR agency/in-house at a media owner/client side at a relevant brand.
  • Proactive networker with excellent media relationships and industry connections, you know the right people for the right press opportunities (across consumer, corporate and trade journalists).
  • Proven ability to pitch and secure placements among top-tier press outlets
  • A strong writer and quick on your feet who can make swift and strategic revisions on pitches, press releases and talking points for the team.
  • Strategic and understand news cycles in this ever-changing social media driven world.
  • You have your finger on the pulse of industry trends and can determine where thought leadership needs to be cultivated.
  • Resourceful self-starter who can adapt quickly and manage tasks from multiple stakeholders
  • Impressive interpersonal skills that foster effective relationships across our organisation or with partners.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with urgency across different departments and with outside partners.
  • Creative thinker, able to come up with fresh thinking to create press coverage, collaborating with the Head of Brand Marketing on campaign development or the Commercial Marketing Manager for content ideas.
Please note that the candidate would need to be available to manage crisis comms out of hours as an exception to standard contracted hours.
