Job Description


My client is an electric vehicle charging service. We design and manufacture the hardware and write the software that communicates with the charge points and that the customers use to charge their car.
They are hiring a Head of Compliance who will be responsible for ensuring company compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards across all functions.

You will

  • Report to the COO and work closely with the Head of Manufacturing, Head of Field
Services and Head of Hardware
  • Keep company policies up to date including managing periodic review and update cycles
  • Maintain a record of all formal systems and regulations applicable to the company that require compliance oversight, including but not limited to:
\xe2\x97\x8b Health & Safety system
\xe2\x97\x8b BS EN 61851 (electric vehicle charging standards)
\xe2\x97\x8b BS 7671 (electrical wiring regulations)
\xe2\x97\x8b IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation
\xe2\x97\x8b HERS (Highway Electrical Registration Scheme)
\xe2\x97\x8b ISO9001 (to be implemented)
\xe2\x97\x8b ISO14001 (to be implemented)
  • Establish and maintain governance for these systems and standards ensuring effective
processes, controls and records are in place to maintain and demonstrate operational compliance as well as update processes as standards evolve
  • Own and manage my clients Health & Safety system including:
\xe2\x97\x8b Ensuring all roles are aware of their responsibilities
\xe2\x97\x8b Maintaining comprehensive records
\xe2\x97\x8b Support development and update of operational risk assessments
\xe2\x97\x8b Conducting on-site behavioural audits of employees and processes to ensure
ongoing operational compliance
\xe2\x97\x8b Reporting monthly KPIs and key events to the board
\xe2\x97\x8b Liaising with external Health & Safety consultant where necessary for advice, major
event management and audits
\xe2\x97\x8b Management of RIDDOR
  • Manage communication and training programmes (including compliance elements of staff
onboarding) to ensure that all staff are aware of and understand compliance requirements for their roles.
  • Keep up to date and liaise with external bodies to be aware of changing industry
requirements
  • Manage implementation, accreditation and ongoing operation of new systems / standards
within the business including ISO9001 and ISO14001

This role will suit if you have;
  • Extensive experience managing a Health & Safety system for manufacturing and field
support teams
  • Experience of setting up and operating an ISO9001 Quality Management System
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to problem-solve
  • Project management skills
  • Experience with regulations relevant to on-street charge point installation would be an
advantage

The role will be mainly hybrid as this saves on commuting and gives us a calm space to work, but
sometimes we like to meet face to face. You should expect to travel into the office near
London Bridge approximately twice a week or whenever the requirement arises. You should also
expect regular travel to our site in Coventry where product assembly takes place.
