ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Head of Charging / Module Leader Charging to join our Product Line team. Reporting to the Product Line Director, Connected Car and Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving cross-functional projects end-to-end from concept to launch. They will ensure a focus on delivering luxury customer experiences while managing programmes to time, cost and quality.

The product strategy and delivery function are responsible for determining our future product portfolio, and this role is responsible for delivering the vehicle and service programmes to realise it. The function covers all aspects of product lifecycle including conception, management and delivery.

Connected Car & Services is a newly formed product line within Bentley, created to deliver new products and services beyond the car. It exists to deliver a customer focused ecosystem that underpins the appeal of the Bentley brand to a wider target audience, and to fulfil Bentleys key strategic objective to provide Extraordinary Customer Journeys. This role will be pivotal in defining and delivering that experience, and an opportunity to transform the Luxury automotive market.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure key decisions for the Module are made with customer and business needs balanced.
  • Plan, steer and update the work content within the agreed module team targets.
  • Define and maintain the working rules and regular communication including reporting in the team and with the functional interfaces.
  • Manage actions to support vehicle project and connected service launches including service development, release and supplier liaison as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the cross functional delivery for the module content to achieve delivery gateways across the whole project lifecycle.
  • Develop and update detailed module timing plans in alignment with the project master timing plan.
  • Leads target definition for Module Systems across business, including target balancing.
  • Sets and agrees module targets across all functions for unit cost, product specification, timing and expenditure and is responsible for deploying to functions and managing the Product Line Budget to meet the delivery targets.
  • Deploy and manage budget with each function.
  • Building networks and robust working relationships cross functionally, with the VW Group, and external partners.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering projects and systems from Concept to SOP.
  • Proven experience of project planning and delivery in a Programme Technical Role or Programme Management Role within an OEM, supplier or tech company.
  • Evidence of strong people leadership and management skills.
  • Management and deployment of complex budget delivery in line with business financial targets.
  • Experience of managing and resolving problems combined with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders, up to and including Members of the Board.
  • Strong commercial and strategic acumen.
