Location: Wynyard, Teesside (remote with travel to events)

Salary: 35,000 - 37,000 per year

About Pocket Sergeant

Pocket Sergeant is a leading subscription-based app used by police officers and legal professionals across England and Wales. Built by a former frontline police officer, the platform has grown to over 21,500 paying subscribers and is now entering its next phase of growth.

We are investing heavily in content, video, and podcasts to grow the brand, reach new audiences, and build long-term trust and authority. This role is central to that mission.

The Role

This is a hands-on, senior content role with full ownership of Pocket Sergeant's content output across podcasts, video, YouTube, and social media.

You will plan, create, film, edit, publish, and grow content end to end. This is not a scheduling role. You will be expected to take responsibility for results.

Key Responsibilities

Content & Media

Record and produce podcasts (audio and video) Edit and fix audio quality for podcast and video content Film short-form and long-form video for social media and YouTube Attend events, talks, and conferences to capture video and behind-the-scenes content Manage basic filming setups (cameras, lighting, microphones)
Social Media Ownership

Take full ownership of Pocket Sergeant's social media platforms Grow TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant platforms Repurpose long-form content into high-performing short-form clips Optimise content for each platform's algorithm Manage posting schedules, captions, thumbnails, and titles
Strategy & Planning

Create and own content plans aligned with business goals Identify content trends and opportunities relevant to policing, law, and public interest Use analytics to refine content and improve performance Work closely with the founder to shape messaging, tone, and storytelling
Non-Negotiable Requirement: Proven Growth Experience

Applicants must provide clear proof of having grown social media platforms.

This must include:

Platforms worked on (TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) Your role in the growth Starting vs current follower/subscriber numbers Timeframes Examples of high-performing content
Applications without evidence of growth will not be considered.

Personal channels are acceptable if you can show results.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Proven experience growing social media platforms Strong video filming and editing skills Confident with podcast recording and audio editing Strong understanding of TikTok, YouTube (including Shorts), and social algorithms Ability to work independently and take ownership Comfortable attending events and filming in live environments
Desirable

Experience growing YouTube channels Experience with podcast production Understanding of analytics and performance tracking Interest in policing, law, or public-interest content
