As an experienced Registered Nurse from the NHS or private sector, you\'ll join the team at The Dean as the Head of Department, to lead and manage the staff and clinical welfare of the residents providing clinical leadership to our teams within The Dean Neurological Centre.

What you will be doing

As the Head of Department, you will join a supportive multi-disciplinary team that works well together in caring for people of all ages who are living with neurological and long-term conditions, including those living with physical disabilities and recovering from traumatic injuries, and providing a high level of personal and slow stream rehabilitative care.

You will lead teams alongside your therapy colleagues and wider clinical leadership team to deliver the individual care each person needs while maintaining accurate records and clinical governance standards.

The service is a 24/7 environment. This position is full-time with the expectation of working shifts primarily as well as the occasional day time shift pattern to allow for clinical supervision and attendance of key meetings.

You will join our teams that support people who have complex rehabilitation needs such as tracheostomies, ventilators and peg feeds and who have extensive and long-term rehabilitation goals. You will be working closely with a range of internal and external services including wheelchair, speech and language teams, the local trust and funding providers.

Where you will be working

The Dean Neurological Centre is a 60 bedded specialist Neurological Centre based in Gloucester which is currently rated \'Good\' by the Care Quality Commission. The centre is based on main transport links and driving is therefore not essential.

The Dean provides specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions, and brain or spinal injuries who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability. The Dean provides a successful community tracheostomy care provision and features piped oxygen in a number of rooms.

The Dean features communal lounges, dining rooms, therapy gym and a specifically designed sensory room. All rooms are adapted to each resident\'s requirements according to their assessments and needs providing truly person centred, individualised care.
