Established in 1988 and a registered charity since 2007, we deliver inclusive, high-impact programmes in sport, education, health, and social inclusion. Our work supports people of all ages and backgrounds, with a strong focus on those who need it most.

Each year, we engage thousands through school coaching, disability sport, mental health support, community events, and inclusive matchday experiences. Our City Hub and other outreach initiatives provide safe, welcoming spaces where individuals and families can thrive.

With a dedicated team and strong community partnerships, we generate over 13 million in social value annually -- helping to build a stronger, healthier, and more connected Bradford.

ABOUT THE ROLE



We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead and develop the Foundation's education and employability provision. This includes our established Football & Education BTEC Level 3 programme as well as the design and delivery of further education, adult education and employability initiatives.

The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring consistently high standards of teaching and learning, building strategic partnerships, and overseeing the education team to deliver impactful outcomes for all learners.

This is a key role, reporting to the Director of Sport and working closely with the CEO and COO to shape the future of our education and employability strategy.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES



Programme Leadership & Development:



Lead and manage the Foundation's education strategy across youth and adult learning programmes. Oversee the planning, development and delivery of the BTEC Football & Education programme. Expand adult education and employability provision, aligned with local needs and strategic priorities. Work with external stakeholders, funders, and training providers to grow adult learning and upskilling opportunities.

Quality Assurance:



Ensure all education programmes (youth and adult) meet or exceed internal and external quality standards. Oversee the delivery of students retaking Maths & English, working alongside tutors for academic success. Monitor and evaluate learner progress, retention, and achievement rates. Establish clear processes for internal reviews, observations, and learner feedback. Work with awarding bodies and partners to maintain compliance and enhance delivery. Provide career advice to development squad players and ensure regular communication with parents/guardians, including hosting a minimum of two parents' evenings per year.

Staff Management & Development:



Line manage and support the education delivery team, including full-time tutors and support staff. Conduct regular 1-to-1s and appraisals; set objectives and support staff professional development. Promote a culture of high performance, accountability and continuous improvement. Mentor PGCE and placement students and facilitate CPD aligned with LFE and broader programme needs.

Learner Recruitment & Engagement:



Drive student recruitment across youth and adult learning pathways, coordinating with the Football Coordinator through regular meetings and active promotion of the programme. Build and maintain positive relationships with schools, adult education networks and community partners. Attend recruitment and promotional events, such as open evenings, careers fairs and community workshops.

Safeguarding, Inclusion & Pastoral Care:



Take a lead role in ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Oversee attendance, behaviour management and safeguarding across programmes, in partnership with the DSL. Ensure learner wellbeing and support is embedded throughout the provision.

Operational Management:



Manage programme budgets in collaboration with the Director of Sport and Finance Lead. Administer bursary payments and funding compliance for eligible learners. Provide regular reporting and updates to the senior leadership team on programme outcomes and targets.

Strategic Contribution:



Contribute to the Foundation's long-term strategy by identifying opportunities for education and employability growth.

Flexibility:



Adapt working hours as needed for events such as parents' evenings, careers fairs, and results days.

Professionalism:



Represent the Football Club with professionalism, both in conduct and on social media.

Discretion:



Execute all duties at the discretion of the Director of Sport, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Executive Officer.

PERSON SPECIFICATION



Essential:



Qualified Teacher Status or relevant teaching qualification in post-16/further education. Minimum 2 years teaching experience, ideally in sport, employability or adult education. Proven experience of leading education programmes and staff teams. High standards of delivery, assessment, and learner engagement. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple programmes and deadlines.Strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusion, and learner support.Passion for community development and improving life opportunities through education.

Desirable:



Experience developing and/or delivering adult learning or employability programmes. Knowledge of local education/employment challenges and opportunities. Familiarity with LFE, BTEC, and/or NCFE qualifications. Experience in budget management and funding compliance. Coaching qualification (e.g., Level 2 in Football) is beneficial but not essential.

Pay: 30,000.00-32,500.00 per year
