About the Role




We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Enterprise Applications to lead our Enterprise IT Applications Teams. This pivotal role will oversee the development, integration, and support of a comprehensive suite of enterprise applications that underpin strategic projects and essential services across the University at a pivotal time as we undertake a significant change of our application ecosystem


You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, security, and performance of our ~100 application landscape, while providing strategic technical guidance as part of the senior leadership within IT Services. The role demands a strong leader with deep technical expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a passion for delivering robust, scalable solutions that drive institutional success.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and manage three service teams across Student Administration Systems, Research, Teaching & Learning, and Business Applications. Develop and implement application strategies, architectures, and roadmaps aligned with University goals in conjunction with business service owners and the IT architecture function. Oversee application lifecycle management, including selection, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning. Deliver strategic technical advice on emerging technologies, including AI. Lead a workstream in the delivery of the digital programme Manage supplier relationships and service contracts for cloud and development services.

About You




You will bring:

Proven leadership in IT solutions at a senior management level, ideally within Higher Education. Extensive experience in enterprise-level application development, integration, and support. Architect-level technical expertise and cyber security and commercial acumen. Excellent team development and mentoring capabilities. A track record of strategic change and transformation delivery. Outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
