The Head of Finance will act as member of the management team ensure the financial health of the company.
You will be a resilient and forward-thinking individual who pro-actively implements change to hit business goals. This role will involve being responsible for high quality financial reporting, management accounts and ensuring all compliance and controls are being followed whilst actively looking to mitigate risk and issues.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the achievement of the company's business objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy
Enhance performance analysis, ensure strong controls, and support the ongoing growth and financial performance across the business.
Build, develop and maintain strong cross-functional working with Sales, Marketing, Development and Technical
Ensure high-quality financial reporting, including Year on Year reports, ledger closes, management accounts, and monthly management submissions to agreed deadlines.
Lead the year-end process, working with accountants as required to deliver statutory accounts to deadlines, and ensure compliance with financial and legal obligations.
Oversee core accounting functions including accounts receivable/payable, payroll, credit control, statutory returns and general ledger management.
Maintain healthy cash flow through accurate forecasting and effective liquidity management.
Focus on cost and margin control and maintenance.
Produce budgets and monitor, raising red flags in a timely manner
Analysing actual results against forecasts and identifying areas of concern and for improvement
Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect the company's financial health.
Assess and enhance financial systems and workflows to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Consider funding requirements to support specific projects as required
Raise red flags to minimise the company's exposure and risk, by resolving and/or escalating issues in a timely fashion
Work cross-functionally with Sales, Development, Marketing and Finance, and senior management
Must Have Skills
A relevant accounting qualification
Business experience in a B2B environment
Commercial understanding of the reoccurring revenue business model
Experience in multicurrency trading
Up to date knowledge of best practices and statutory accounting requirements
A natural flare for figures and finance
Highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable leading projects independently
Strategically and commercially aware, with a strong understanding of business dynamics
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong cross-functional influencing and collaboration skills
Understanding of business management principles
Proven track record of solving problems creatively, within budget and deadline
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with team members and the management team
