JOB SUMMARY



The Role:



Lesters, the large packaging specialists, have a rare opportunity for an established Head of Finance to join the business in a senior leadership role.

You will have accountability for the smooth financial running of the Company, leading the financial strategy to maximise profitability and business growth, whilst managing cash flow and financial risk with full responsibility for financial reporting.

We are looking for a motivated, driven and dynamic person to breathe life into our accounts department - dedicated to adding value, challenging department heads to be accountable for their budgets and targets.

Key Duties



Responsible and accountable for the financial governance and compliance of the Company ensuring suitable financial controls and procedures are in place, adhered to and enhanced.

Full ownership of the P&L, balance sheet, working capital, forecasting, budgeting and month end, with clear and accurate reporting on financial performance and key metrics on a structured and timely basis.

Implement successful financial strategy including working capital and cashflow supports successful delivery of Company budget.

Maintain an overview of all financial risks to the business and provide risk mitigation strategies.

Analyse the financial climate and market trends to drive and improve commercial decision making within the business in line with strategic plans for the future

Use your expertise to provide strategic financial advice to support business growth, effectively manage your team and promote solid working relationships & collaboration across the Company.

Ensure that budgets are set for departments in participation with the department head and ensure they work to successfully deliver output within budget

Liaise with banking contacts, accountants, HMRC and other third parties to ensure the Company meets its financial & legal obligations.

Continually review and identify opportunities for lower costs whilst driving profitability through profit levers and efficiency projects.

Maximise tax efficiency of the business

Monitor availability of financial grants and incentive schemes and provide strategic insight as to how to maximise usage.

Displaying positive leadership to all departments, motivating effective communication and strategic cross team working to ensure unity across the Company and that all work is completed to the satisfaction of the Directors.

Manage the performance of your team, providing training and development and as required and ensure all the team adopt and endorse the Company's brand promise and core values.

Our Ideal Candidate



The ideal candidate will have sufficient experience of leadership, knowledge of our sector (or transferable experience), and a proven ability to continually improve financial procedures and controls to assist in meeting business goals.

They'll have the ability to keep a close eye on the detail of all key metrics and taking decisive and effective action that has a genuine impact in the business, when needed.
