Manx National Heritage (MNH) is the trading name of the Manx Museum and National Trust, a charity registered in the Isle of Man and custodian of some of Europe's most important heritage sites, including the Great Laxey Wheel the world's largest working water wheel and Castle Rushen, one of the best-preserved medieval castles in Europe. We care for more than 2500 acres of landscape and >1 million items in our Museum collections and archives.

About the role




This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, highly motivated, resourceful and experienced finance manager to join the senior leadership team of Manx National Heritage, the National Trust of the Isle of Man. The Head of Finance, Governance and Corporate Services will oversee the financial management of the organisation, registered Charity 603. The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant, and an experienced and resourceful finance manager with a proven track record of operating successfully at a senior level.


As a member of the Executive, you will have the ability to offer insight and challenge for future strategic development, safeguarding financial stability for the charity whilst nurturing strategic growth across all income generating areas of the organisation. You will have a comprehensive understanding of charity governance.


With proven experience of leading a successful Finance department you will have a detailed end-to-end knowledge of Sage Intaact (or similar accounting software) and be able to evidence successful and relevant senior leadership experience, strategic vision, sound business acumen and the capability to effectively adapt to fluctuating priorities. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will drive the quality of financial reporting, governance and corporate services, ensuring robust financial controls.
