Job Description
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller/ Head of Finance to join a leading company in the creative industry, based in Colchester. The ideal candidate should possess excellent leadership skills and a sound understanding of finance and accounting principles.
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department.
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
- Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
- Ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Manage the production of annual reports and end of year closing processes.
- Monitor and analyse department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources.
- Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
- Respond to inquiries from the Director of Finance, and other finance and firm-wide managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
A successful Financial Controller should have:
- A degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional certification such as CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
- Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations.
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting processes.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An estimated salary range of xc2xa380,000 to xc2xa390,000 GBP per annum.
