purchasing and importing goods into Europe

Initially, your focus will be on core financial operations--including
accounts payable/receivable, banking, and compliance
--within a small but agile team. As we grow, you'll play a key role in
scaling and leading our finance function
across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations:
Manage daily financial activities including AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
Compliance & Regulation:
Ensure compliance with UK and EU accounting standards, VAT/tax laws, and customs requirements for goods entering Europe.
Transaction Management:
Oversee payments, manage cash flow, and liaise with banking institutions.
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and forecasts to support strategic planning.
Process Improvement:
Evaluate and enhance financial controls, workflows, and system efficiency.
Team Leadership:
Grow and manage a regional finance team as operations expand.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with the U.S.-based CFO and other global stakeholders to align financial strategies and reporting practices.
Coaching & Development:
Foster growth within your team, supporting junior staff in their professional development.
Key Qualifications & Skills
Strong working knowledge of
UK and EU financial regulations
, including VAT and customs for imported goods.
Solid experience in
transactional finance
(AP, AR, and banking).
Proven ability to operate autonomously within a small, high-performing team.
Proficient in
financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis
.
Demonstrated ability to
improve financial processes
and ensure compliance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a coaching and collaborative mindset.
Experience with
ERP systems
--particularly
Microsoft Business Central
--is highly desirable.
Professional accounting qualification (
ACCA, ACA, CIMA
, or equivalent) preferred.
