About this role
Banijay UK is looking to hire an exceptional Head of Financial Control to lead an experienced team of finance professionals overseeing core finance processes for Banijay UK's 20+ Production Label Brands across a high volume of legal entities environment.
Reporting to Banijay UK's Finance Director, this role will be responsible for overseeing core financial deliverables including statutory reporting, management reporting, lead external and internal audits, ensure a robust financial control environment, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Stakeholders include, Banijay UK Label Heads of Finance, Banijay's Global Group Finance team, Head of Tax, Director of FP&A, external auditors and other professional advisors.
This role requires strong leadership, strong technical aptitude, industry knowledge, process improvement mindset and an understanding of best-in-class financial control.
Duties
Financial Reporting
Ownership of group financials, responsible for accuracy, integrity and timely delivered information including but not limited to:Managing the month end close process for internal reporting for Banijay UK, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Banijay accounting standards and business activities Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of external statutory financial statements for all entities, including Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) and those using Creative Industry Tax Reliefs Develop and ensure high quality of reporting across both division wide and label level P&L and Balance sheet reporting packs with insightful analysis and commentary Ensure teams are kept informed of accounting changes and appropriate training frameworks in place Work closely with Director of FP&A ensuring accurate and timely inputs into financial planning processes - in line with accounting policies Be a key liaison with Banijay Group colleagues in Paris, ensuring clear communications lines and compliance with Group policies, including preparation of accounting memos where appropriate

Audit, Compliance and ControlLead external audits ensuring timely completion, clear and effective dialogue between teams with fast resolution to queries as they arise Lead financial control processes which ensure the integrity of financials such as interrogation of balance sheet reconciliations and process controls reviews Manage the implementation of Banijay Group's financial accounting policies and lead the team in supporting adoption across the UK Group Manage the commercial impact assessment of technical accounting changes Working closely with the legal team to support the continual simplification of corporate structure Support the FD with ongoing risk management reviews

Leadership and Change ManagementLead the central finance accounting team, building a high-performance culture Develop and maintain a training framework with clear expectations across levels Coach and mentor teams across function on technical accounting practices Support the collaboration across teams for continual process development

Knowledge & SkillsExpertise in leading and motivating a large team and delivering best in class outputs Excellent problem-solving abilities, proactively seeking to find and implement efficient process improvements with a constant improvement mindset Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA with strong technical accounting skills including UK GAAP (FRS 101 and FRS102) and IFRS Experience of accounts consolidation for a medium or large group with a high volume of entities including SPVs, including eliminations, adjustments, disclosures etc Proven experience in managing delivery to statutory deadlines Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - able to work with all levels of staff across UK management, Group Finance and UK Finance teams and external audit teams Strong prioritisation and organisation skills with ability to manage conflicting deadlines SAP BFC and PMI experience is advantageous Qualified accountant ACA/ACCA (8 years+ PQE) Working experience with Creative Industry tax relief desirable Big Four experience preferred but not essential
