Job Description


provides staff, students and members of the community a wide range of food and beverage options in outlets to include University owned provisions, brand concessions and an onsite grocery store.

This is a new position, following a comprehensive review of the supply chain, alignment the University\'s strategic objectives and evolving customer needs.

Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage, with direct management responsibility for two members of staff, the successful candidate will develop a clear strategic direction for the customer food and drink propositions across food and beverage outlets. They will lead the team to create, test and launch new propositions and menu types that protect and grow revenue and enhance WFG\'s contribution to the University\'s strategic goals. The role will be responsible for overseeing a central production kitchen, including logistics of moving stock across campus.

The Head of Food and Beverage Product will work closely alongside two other new positions; Head of Food and Beverage Experience and Head of Food and Beverage Operations.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

Educated to degree level or holding equivalent experience in the hospitality industry, the successful candidate will bring considerable multi-site operational experience in a food-service and food production context, with extensive experience in designing and leading product development processes.

With in-depth and current knowledge of customer expectations, trends and market forces within the UK food industry and in-depth knowledge of food safety legislation, the candidate will have a solid understanding of procurement and stock management processes and in turn, profit and loss statements and key drivers of revenue, gross margin and fixed/variable operating costs.

Experience in working within the public or not-for profit sectors is desirable.
