Head of Football

to lead the growth, delivery, and standards of football across the network.

Overview of the Role



This is a

full-time position

, with responsibilities

split approximately 50/50 between on-pitch coaching and off-pitch administration and management

. The successful candidate will be central to shaping our football delivery model and will take on key operational leadership tasks, while also playing an active role in coaching and player development.

As part of this role, you will be the

Lead Coach for two Academy age groups

competing in the

Junior Premier League (JPL)

. These squads train

twice weekly

and play

fixtures on Saturdays

throughout the season.

Key Responsibilities1. Coaching & Football Programme Leadership



Deliver high-quality, engaging sessions within FC Hubs, After School Clubs, and Academy sessions. Act as

Lead Coach for two JPL Academy age groups

, including planning and delivering two evening training sessions per week and managing Saturday fixtures. Lead on planning and implementation of the annual football training calendar across all sites. Maintain and evolve a year-round syllabus that includes: Elite player development Small group technical/tactical sessions Inclusive team-based sessions Promote high standards in attitude, sportsmanship, and effort across all age groups.

2. Player Recruitment & Talent Pathways



Build and maintain strong relationships with local schools, grassroots clubs, and community groups to identify and recruit promising players. Meet with prospective players and families to discuss pathways through the Collective.

3. Player Development & Performance Monitoring



Oversee holistic player development across technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects. Implement individual development plans for high-potential players, including additional contact time and video analysis where appropriate. Monitor progress across all age groups and adapt the programme to ensure continuous improvement.

4. Coach Development & Leadership



Line-manage the coaching team, leading rota planning, scheduling, and quality control. Plan and deliver a formal internal CPD programme, with support for coaches at different levels of experience. Mentor individual coaches and deliver regular observations and feedback. Ensure the football syllabus and delivery are consistent across all FC locations. Source specialist coaches as needed (e.g. GK or futsal).

5. Organisation & Administration



Oversee calendar management and termly planning, including internal events, CPD, and franchise support. Coordinate session logistics (venues, equipment, staffing) with the operations team Lead on annual football budget planning and resource allocation. Support football activity during pre-season and holiday periods as needed. Contribute to the promotion of football within the Collective through newsletters, social media, and showcases.

6. Franchise & Expansion Support



Assist in onboarding new franchise partners by providing syllabus training and coaching model guidance. Conduct regular quality assurance visits to ensure standards are upheld. Support regional events, camps, and holiday programmes when required.

What We're Looking For



Essential:



UEFA B Licence preferred Proven leadership experience in football coaching (academy, grassroots, or school) Strong understanding of player development and coaching methodology Organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple programmes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Full driving licence and willingness to travel Availability for

evening training sessions and Saturday fixtures


Desirable:



Experience working within or alongside professional club academies Familiarity with Player Development Plans and video analysis tools (e.g. Veo or HUDL) Experience creating or leading coach development programmes
