About the Job




We are seeking a seasoned and technically proficient professional to join our Infrastructure leadership team as the Head of Infrastructure Platforms. This senior-level, hands-on managerial role requires a strong technical background and proven leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of core Platform services across ICBCS, including Wintel, Unix, Databases and Cloud services.


As the global authority on Infrastructure Platforms, you will serve as the primary escalation point for 4th line support within the ICBC Standard Bank business. Your responsibilities will span across strategy, engineering, delivery, business-as-usual operations oversight.

What you'll be doing




Provide strategic leadership and hands-on management across the Infrastructure Platform estate ensuring the delivery of highly available, scalable, and secure services. Deliver both technical and managerial oversight for core infrastructure platforms, including Wintel, Networks, and End-Point, while serving as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues to ensure swift and effective resolution. Partner closely with the Technology Architecture team to design and implement infrastructure solutions, taking full ownership of low-level design and the successful execution of regional infrastructure projects. Lead the execution of the "Engineer, Deploy, and Operate" processes in accordance with the IS&O operating handbook, ensuring seamless service delivery, operational excellence, and smooth service transitions. Contribute to the IS&O portfolio management function by offering deep technical insight and support for business-driven projects and infrastructure-related initiatives. Ensure the stability, efficiency, and security of IT infrastructure operations across ICBCS offices, supported by strong governance and risk management practices. Implement global IT strategies and policies ICBCS, adapting them to meet local business and regulatory requirements.

What you'll need to be successful




Proven experience (10+ years) in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership or regional management role within a complex, multinational environment. Strong technical background across core infrastructure domains, including Wintel, Linux, Databases, and enterprise-grade infrastructure platforms. Demonstrated success in managing large-scale infrastructure operations, including service delivery, incident and problem management, and change control. Experience implementing and aligning IT strategies and policies within a global framework while adapting to regional business and regulatory requirements. Solid understanding of ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and experience working within structured service management environments. Hands-on experience with infrastructure architecture and/or networks, and the execution of infrastructure transformation or upgrade projects. Proven ability to manage infrastructure budgets, vendor relationships, and thirdparty service providers effectively. Strong leadership and team development skills, with a track record of mentoring and growing high-performing technical teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and influence at all levels of the organization. Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices, including identity and access management, CIS controls, and infrastructure hardening.
