Role Description:




As Head of IT, you will be responsible for managing the internal IT operations of IMP and making sure our business data is secure and we are a compliance focused organisation. You will oversee all aspects of internal operations, including operational cybersecurity, asset management, data management and cloud application management, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and growth plans. You will work closely with the executive team and department leaders to identify and implement technology solutions that drive efficiency, scalability, and innovation across the business. You will have a clear vision for the IT department and its role in enabling business success and will report to the COO and work closely with our CTO and the wider business to ensure we're able to work effectively and securely as a remote team. This is a high-impact leadership role, pivotal to the company's operational resilience and future-readiness, and you will collaborate closely with the executive team to shape and evolve the company's digital operations

Key responsibilities:



Manage the relationship with our MSP, advising and supporting their team to ensure they deliver what has been promised in an effective and value-for-money way. o Manage the ordering and tracking of assets including laptops in a remote-first organisation. Implementing systems to keep track of which assets are where, and their state, alongside the lifecycle management of assets. Ensuring that we stay compliant and ahead of our annual cyber essentials plus accreditation Own and evolve our use and tracking of cloud applications, and the information flows between them. Own and evolve the internal IT strategy, ensuring alignment with IMP's business goals, growth plans, and operational needs. Develop our use of data controls, evolving use of DLP tools and retention periods. o Safeguard company and customer data, leading cybersecurity initiatives and ensuring compliance with relevant data protection regulations such as GDPR. Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to identify, implement, and optimise technology solutions that improve efficiency and support innovation. Be an authority on internal systems and tools, understanding how they support business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement or automation. Monitor external technology trends and risks, including regulatory changes, cybersecurity threats, and emerging tools that may impact IMP's operations. Be a proponent of harnessing AI for internal process improvement, and able to advocate for its use. Support business continuity and resilience, developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans and ensuring secure remote work capabilities. Create a vision for the IT function, defining its role in enabling business success and working with the executive team to resource and deliver it. Develop and maintain internal IT policies and standards, ensuring consistent practices across the organisation and alignment with best practices. Define, own and track internal IT KPIs, using data to monitor performance, guide decision-making, and ensure departmental targets are met. Manage the internal IT budget, ensuring cost control, ROI, and strategic investment in technology. Represent IMP's technology leadership, participating in relevant industry events, forums, and partnerships to enhance the company's digital maturity.
