Job Description

Scope



To ensure EWC are using the various software packages we have in place and that we are getting the best out of them. Act as the primary point of contact for all IT matters, providing both strategic direction and hands-on technical support. Oversee and manage relationships with third-party IT service providers, ensuring service quality, performance, and cost efficiency. Develop and implement IT policies, standards, and procedures to support operational and business continuity across locations. Drive improvements in system performance, connectivity, cybersecurity, and user experience through modern technology solutions. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, cybersecurity frameworks, and internal governance standards. Ensure training is provided across the EWC team and that each operative has understanding and can use the systems to the very best of their ability.

Duties



Leadership & Strategy

Lead the IT infrastructure function and act as the first point of contact for all IT-related matters. Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with business growth and operational efficiency. Advise senior management on technology risks, opportunities, and investments.
Infrastructure & Systems Management - working with our external providers to:

Oversee company-wide infrastructure including networks, servers, hardware, telephony, cloud platforms, and mobile devices. Ensure all systems are secure, stable, and optimised for performance. Manage and coordinate IT support through external partners, ensuring SLAs and user satisfaction are met.
Cybersecurity & Compliance- working with our external providers to:

Maintain cybersecurity controls -- including patch management, access control, data protection, and incident response. Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal data protection policies. Conduct regular reviews of IT risks, backups, and disaster recovery readiness.
System Improvement & Integration

Lead or oversee the rollout of new systems, tools, or digital initiatives. Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and standardise systems across all sites. Ensure effective change management and user training for new technologies.
Supplier & Budget Management

Manage relationships with managed service providers and technology vendors. Oversee IT procurement, software licensing, and hardware inventory. Monitor and control IT budgets, ensuring value for money and cost efficiency.
Support & Engagement

Provide guidance and support to site-based staff and head office teams on IT usage and troubleshooting. Be visible, approachable, and responsive to IT issues across the business. Promote best practices for system usage, cybersecurity awareness, and data handling.
Business Continuity

Maintain and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Ensure system resilience and minimal downtime during critical operations.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE



Essential

Proven experience in IT leadership or management, preferably within construction, engineering, logistics, or multi-site operational businesses. Strong understanding of infrastructure management, including networks, servers, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Intune, and cloud solutions. Demonstrated ability to manage third-party IT providers (MSPs), contracts, and service-level performance. Experience implementing and maintaining business systems such as ERP, CRM, HR, or project management software. Solid grasp of data security principles, disaster recovery, and data protection (GDPR compliance). Proven track record in troubleshooting, systems integration, and infrastructure upgrades. Experience managing IT budgets, software licences, and asset tracking. A willingness to travel to construction sites as required. Prior experience of Training and implementing software packages across large teams.

Desirable

Prior experience of working with 4PS, Sharepoint, Teams, Cezanne, Job Logic & Total Mobile. Prior experience of working with Litmos, Envoy, Fieldwire, Docusign and Horizon Telephony software. Exposure to data analytics/reporting tools AI. Knowledge of automation tools (Power Platform, AI assistants, workflow automation). Experience leading or mentoring small technical teams or IT support staff.

Commitment to continuous improvement, efficiency, and system reliability. Integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive data and information Organised, punctual, and capable of prioritising tasks in a prompt manner to the required high level standard.

OTHER



The ability to travel to a range of sites if required. Appreciation that there might be out of hours working, agreed in advance for project implementation.

Pay: 55,000.00-60,000.00 per year
