We're looking for a strategic leader to take charge of our IT Operational Management function, overseeing the performance and evolution of two critical teams: the

Network Operations Centre (NOC)

and the newly forming

Operations Security Centre (OSC)

.


This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our production systems across Group, Venues, and Interactive platforms. You'll be responsible for building and leading high-performing teams that monitor, manage, and protect our IT estate, spanning everything from gaming platforms and corporate infrastructure to cloud environments.


Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage

the 24x7 operations of the NOC and OSC teams, ensuring optimal performance across all environments, on-premises and cloud.

Build and shape

the OSC team from the ground up, establishing robust processes for security event management and incident resolution.

Drive cost efficiency

in monitoring tools (e.g., NewRelic) while maintaining visibility and functionality across platforms.

Ensure rapid detection

and resolution of technology faults and security incidents to minimize impact on customers and business operations.

Monitor and alert

on failures related to security, gaming, and data compliance, with a deep understanding of our technical obligations.

Continuously evolve

operational processes to align with changing business needs and industry best practices.

Mentor and empower

team leads, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and excellence.

Collaborate cross-functionally

with ITSM, engineering, and change management teams to assess service quality, manage risk, and drive improvements.

Champion service improvement

, contributing insights and analysis to enhance tools, processes, and supplier performance.

Strategically transition BAU tasks

from smaller teams (e.g., networks) to the NOC/OSC, enabling those teams to focus on innovation and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

Deep technical knowledge

across both legacy and modern cloud-based infrastructure, including Azure, AWS, Cloudflare, Nginx, GitHub, Kubernetes, and monitoring platforms like NewRelic and Solarcloud.

Several yeaers experience

in IT Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, or IT Service Management, with a track record of delivering operational excellence.

Expert troubleshooting skills

across diverse technology stacks, including those built with internal and third-party components.

Proven leadership

of globally distributed, 24x7 operational teams, with a focus on performance, resilience, and collaboration.

Strong understanding of service quality and security compliance

, with a demonstrated ability to safeguard customer and business interests.

Gaming industry experience

is highly desirable, especially in regulated or high-availability environments.

Exceptional communication skills

, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences and engage confidently across all levels of the business.

Resilient and empathetic leadership

, capable of navigating conflict and high-pressure situations with professionalism.

Commercially aware

, with a keen understanding of how operational decisions impact business performance.
