We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader and manager to join UWE Bristol as Head of Learning and Teaching Transformation. The position is part of the senior leadership team in Academic Services, where you will have significant opportunities to develop your leadership skills and shape the delivery of key services in a future-focused university that is committed to providing an outstanding experience for all our students.
Academic Services (AcS) supports staff and students across the academic life cycle. This new role will provide university-wide support for the ongoing development of our approach to delivering excellent learning and teaching, including responsibility for leading on the preparation and coordination of institutional submissions to the Teaching Excellence Framework. The role holder will also be expected to: to contribute to the development and analysis of robust institutional evidence related to the student experience, continuation, attainment, and progression, informing the University's ongoing enhancement activity.
facilitate planning of key projects in learning and teaching, and maintain effective working relationships with professional services, academic schools and external partners.
provide strategic support and insight for the shape and structure of the TEF submission, managing resource to support the delivery and timely completion of an optimal TEF submission.
As a member of the AcS senior team, the Head of Learning and Teaching Transformation will contribute to service-wide strategic planning, fostering a collaborative working environment that continues to enhance performance.

You combine advanced expertise, knowledge and understanding of best practice in learning and teaching, with a commitment to promoting innovation and continuous improvement. Energetic and resilient, you enjoy working at pace and are comfortable with complexity and uncertainty. You have excellent communication and influencing skills and establish credibility quickly with staff at all levels. You are passionate about higher education and inspire teams individually and collectively to deliver the best possible support for students and staff.

This is enabled by working closely with all areas of the University, the Students' Union and a wide range of external stakeholders.
We are responsible for developing and maintaining the comprehensive regulatory and quality management and enhancement framework that underpins the University's academic provision, including support for the academic governance structures. We take responsibility for ensuring that the quality and standards of the University's awards are maintained and enhanced across the organisation, and in its current and future academic partnerships. We also play an important part in helping our Schools and Colleges develop relevant, sustainable and robust curricula in order to maintain and enhance the quality of learning opportunities available to all students. The development of policy to support our students and their academic endeavours sits within our remit, including areas of student conduct, professional suitability and handling complaints and appeals.
In partnership with the Students' Union and our student representatives, we work to ensure the student voice is a key part of our approach to enhancement activities across all areas of our work and the wider University. As part of this, we facilitate the key sector student surveys, as well as the University's internal student engagement strategies.

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.
However, some travel to our other campuses and, occasionally, to partners in the UK and overseas will be necessary.

This is a full-time, permanent post, working 37 hours per week.
UWE Bristol is a campus-based University and it is important for our success and the delivery of an outstanding experience for our students that our campuses are dynamic and vibrant places to learn and spend time. This role is therefore campus based with some opportunity for home working.
The University's normal practice is that new appointments will be made at the starting point of the grade.
